General Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine Dosage Information

Some considerations for people taking amphetamine and dextroamphetamine include:
 
  • The first dose of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine for the day should be taken in the morning, first thing after waking up.
     
  • If you do not take your amphetamine and dextroamphetamine as scheduled, take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. However, taking the dose too late at night could cause sleeping problems. Do not take a double the dose of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine.
     
  • Your amphetamine and dextroamphetamine dosage can be taken with or without food.
     
  • For amphetamine and dextroamphetamine to work properly, you have to take it as prescribed. Amphetamine and dextroamphetamine will not work if you take it in a way other than the one prescribed by your healthcare provider.
     
  • If you are unsure about anything related to amphetamine and dextroamphetamine or your amphetamine and dextroamphetamine dosage, please talk to your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. Do not stop taking this drug without first discussing it with your healthcare provider.
