Flurazepam Side Effects

Although most people don't experience any problems while taking flurazepam, side effects can occur. Commonly reported side effects include headaches, diarrhea or constipation, and coordination problems. These are typically minor and easily treated. Potentially serious side effects of flurazepam, such as memory loss and problems with balance or falling down, should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider.

An Introduction to Flurazepam Side Effects

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with flurazepam (Dalmane®); however, not everyone who takes the medication will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.

Possible Flurazepam Side Effects

Flurazepam is an older insomnia medication, approved many years ago. With newer medications, side effects are carefully documented and the exact percentage of people that develop each side effect is known. With older medications like flurazepam, side effect information is less specific and exact percentages are not reported.

  • Sweating
  • Hot flashes
  • Blurred vision
  • Dry mouth
  • Bitter taste
  • Increased salivation
  • Loss of appetite
