Sleep Home > Flurazepam HCL Drug Information

Flurazepam hydrochloride (HCl) is a prescription sleep medication sold under the brand name Dalmane®. It is generally recommended for short-term insomnia treatment, although on occasion long-term use may also be appropriate. Dizziness, drowsiness, and lightheadedness are some of the most common side effects; however, most people are able to take it without any problems. Because the medication can work rather quickly, it is typically taken just before you go to bed.
Although the drug is generally well tolerated, it is not suitable for everyone. Before using flurazepam HCl, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on your medical history and a list of your current medications. In particular, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you have a history of drug or alcohol abuse.
