Drug Interactions With MethylphenidateBefore starting methylphenidate, tell your healthcare provider about all medicines you may be taking, because many can cause drug interactions with methylphenidate. When interactions occur, the drug levels in your system may be increased and side effects may develop, including high blood pressure and increased heart rate. Medications that may potentially lead to drug interactions with methylphenidate include tricyclic antidepressants, pressors, warfarin, and monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
