Drug Interactions With Temazepam

Drug interactions with temazepam can occur if it is combined with alcohol, barbiturates, narcotics, or other sleep medications. These interactions can increase your risk of side effects, including drowsiness, memory loss, and difficulty breathing. Prior to starting treatment, be sure to talk to your healthcare provider about any drug interactions with temazepam that may apply to you.

 

Drug Interactions With Temazepam: An Overview

Temazepam (Restoril®) can potentially interact with several other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to temazepam drug interactions include:
 
  • Alcohol
 
 
o Clozapine (Clozaril®, FazaClo®)
  • Barbiturates, including:
o Amobarbital (Amytal®)
o Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
o Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
o Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
o Secobarbital (Seconal®)
  • Narcotics or opiates, such as morphine, oxycodone (OxyContin®), or hydrocodone
        (Lortab®, Vicodin®)
 
  • Other benzodiazepines, including:
  • Other sleep medications
