Versed Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Versed is combined with any of the drugs listed above.
 
Alcohol
Combining alcohol with Versed can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. It is best to avoid alcohol before and after any surgery or procedure that will involve Versed.
 
Antidepressant Medications
Combining an antidepressant with Versed can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Make sure your healthcare provider or anesthesiologist is aware that you are taking an antidepressant medication before using Versed.
 
Antipsychotic Medications
Combining an antipsychotic medication with Versed can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Make sure your healthcare provider or anesthesiologist is aware that you are taking an antipsychotic medication before using Versed.
 
Barbiturates
Combining a barbiturate with Versed can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Make sure your healthcare provider or anesthesiologist is aware that you are taking a barbiturate before using Versed.
 
Certain Antibiotics or Antifungals
Some antibiotics or antifungal medications can increase the level of Versed in your blood or may increase the time it takes for your body to remove Versed from the blood. Make sure your healthcare provider or anesthesiologist is aware that you are taking antibiotics or antifungals before using Versed.
