Versed Drug Interactions

If you combine certain medications with Versed, drug interactions may occur. A few of the medications that can interact with Versed include antidepressants, antipsychotics, or sleep medications. Some of these drug interactions can increase you risk of side effects, such as difficulty breathing, memory problems, confusion, and drowsiness. To reduce the risk of these complications, be sure to talk with your healthcare provider about any interactions that may apply to you.

 

An Overview of Versed Drug Interactions

Versed® (midazolam) can potentially interact with other medications. Some of these medicines that may lead to Versed interactions include:
 
o Clozapine (Clozaril®, FazaClo®)
  • Barbiturates, including:
o Amobarbital (Amytal®)
o Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
o Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
o Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
o Secobarbital (Seconal®
  • Certain antibiotics or antifungals, including:
o Clarithromycin (Biaxin®)
o Erythromycin (Ery-Tab®)
o Isoniazid (Nydrazid®)
o Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
o Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
o Telithromycin (Ketek®
